Job Summary

Snackruptors USA Inc. is seeking dependable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented Sanitors to join our Sanitation Team in Mountville, Pennsylvania.

The Sanitor is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing food production equipment, food contact surfaces, warehouse areas, and facility structures to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a clean and sanitary manufacturing environment that supports the production of safe, high-quality products.

The position requires adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP requirements, SQF standards, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety policies while working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Schedule

Weekday Sanitor

Typical Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift based on business needs

Weekend Sanitor

Typical Schedule:

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
  • Other compressed weekend schedules as assigned

Additional overtime, holidays, extended shifts, and schedule adjustments may be required based on production and sanitation needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation Activities

  • Clean and sanitize food processing equipment, food contact surfaces, production rooms, warehouse areas, and facility structures.
  • Safely handle, mix, and apply approved sanitation chemicals according to established procedures.
  • Operate sanitation equipment including:
    • Foamers
    • Pressure Washers
    • Sanitation Sprayers
    • Chemical Dispensing Systems
  • Perform both wet-cleaning and dry-cleaning sanitation processes as required.
  • Manually clean equipment and production areas using brushes, scrapers, scrub pads, and other sanitation tools.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment as necessary for cleaning and sanitation activities.
  • Ensure all sanitation activities are completed according to Master Cleaning Schedules (MCS).
Food Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Follow all sanitation procedures to maintain food safety and product quality standards.
  • Verify cleanliness of equipment and production areas prior to startup.
  • Identify and report food safety, sanitation, quality, or equipment concerns immediately.
  • Support environmental monitoring and food safety verification programs as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all company and regulatory food safety requirements.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Complete sanitation records, cleaning logs, chemical usage documentation, and required reports accurately and timely.
  • Document all sanitation activities according to company procedures.
  • Maintain sanitation audit readiness at all times.
  • Support internal audits, SQF audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.

Inventory & Equipment Maintenance

  • Monitor sanitation supply inventories and notify leadership of replenishment needs.
  • Properly store sanitation chemicals and equipment.
  • Inspect sanitation equipment for proper operation and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain sanitation tools and equipment in good working condition.

Continuous Improvement & Team Support

  • Support sanitation improvement initiatives and 5S programs.
  • Assist Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Warehouse teams as needed.
  • Participate in sanitation, food safety, and safety training programs.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Food Safety & Quality Requirements

Employees are responsible for immediately reporting food safety concerns, sanitation issues, quality concerns, equipment issues, and workplace hazards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to safely work with sanitation chemicals and cleaning equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and food safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and food safety programs.
  • Experience using pressure washers, foamers, and sanitation equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with equipment disassembly and reassembly.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
