Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager role based in Ogden, UT. The Project Manager will oversee steel fabrication and installation projects from planning through completion, ensuring scope, budget, quality, and schedule requirements are met. Responsibilities include coordinating with in-house detailing, shop, and field teams, managing subcontractors and suppliers, and monitoring production and field progress. The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing project schedules and progress reports, and addressing issues related to materials, logistics, and inspections. The Project Manager will communicate regularly with clients and internal stakeholders, track project documentation, and support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management for multiple concurrent projects.
- Expeditor and expediting skills to track materials, ensure timely deliveries, and resolve supply or fabrication delays.
- Inspection and quality oversight skills to review work against drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Logistics management skills to coordinate transportation, site deliveries, and field sequencing with shop and erection crews.
- Experience in steel fabrication, construction, or related industries, with knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, engineers, shop personnel, and field teams.
- Proficiency with project management and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, project scheduling software, document management systems).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and fabrication details; attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Ogden, UT and visit fabrication and field locations as needed, with a strong commitment to safety.
