This opportunity is in the Claims Department.

Our Claims Department oversees both high-exposure workers’ compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess carrier, the catastrophic claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.

Role Description:

As a Senior Claims Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing complex and high-severity excess workers’ compensation claims from start to finish. You will be responsible for making critical decisions regarding coverage, medical management, litigation strategy, and settlement, while ensuring compliance with best practices and internal procedures. This position requires a high level of independence, sound judgment, and leadership, as you’ll also assist in mentoring new hires and supporting TPA and LPT audits. You will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including third-party administrators, defense counsel, underwriting teams, and reinsurance partners, to ensure claims are handled effectively and with integrity. Your role directly impacts the organization’s financial performance and reinforces our commitment to service excellence.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
• This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Eight to ten years of experience in workers’ compensation claims adjusting with an insurance carrier or third-party administrator.
• Experience handling WC claims in multiple jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
