We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the Maintenance team as an Maintenance Technician supporting our Minneapolis facility. Every day we bring our customers’ labels and packaging to life, creating a customer experience that is second to none, and enabling them to stand out over the competition. Imagine walking through stores and seeing our labels on your favorite products and brands!
Shift Available: 3 days a week/12 hour shifts; on call rotating weekend schedule
Compensation is based on the skills and experiences brought to Smyth
Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician include:
- Repairing machinery, including electro-mechanical equipment, motion controls, motors, pneumatic systems, pumps.
- Ensuring efficient operation of machinery and support equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
- Locating sources of issues by observing equipment in operation; troubleshooting for issues; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Assisting with the maintenance of inventory records and replenishment of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Working safely. Abiding by and promoting established safety policies and procedures. Identifying and following-up on unsafe conditions.
The idea candidate must demonstrate:
- Ability to think through the mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery operations and decision-making
- Capability to read electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting of the electro-mechanical systems
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple long- and short-term projects
- Communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalities
- Ability to provide high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries of internal customers
Skills & Experience
- Required: High school education
- Required: 2 years related experience; industrial machinery maintenance preferred
- Required: Must be open to off schedule calls and available for overtime as needed
- Preferred: PLC and HMI literacy
- A Plus: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and BRC/ ISO quality systems, CMMS (MVP one)
Salary : $35 - $40
