The Opportunity

This position is responsible for the oversight and performance of the Maintenance Planning Team at the Mahrt paper mill in Cottonton, AL

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock

• Responsible for the management of all maintenance planners in support of the Mahrt Mill
• Provide leadership to the organization in support of equipment and process reliability
• Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures
• Participate in and promote continuous improvement
• Provides direction and focus in optimizing SAP and fully utilizing system capabilities
• Drives work management process for the mill
• Develop and train mill employees on work management process
• Develop and review work management KPIs to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance work force
• Develop and maintain planning calendar for outages and shutdowns
• Ensure utilization of MS project software to build timelines for outages and shutdowns and track progress versus the schedule
• Lead daily review meetings during plant scheduled shutdowns
• Ensure Bill of Materials and functional locations are established for all equipment
• Ensure daily and weekly schedules are developed and published in a timely manner
• Ensures resource scheduling to 120% capacity
• Increase utilization of standard job plans and task lists saved to SAP
• Spare parts review and setup to stores stock
• Ensure QA/QC activities are planned into the work schedule
• Ownership of unscheduled maintenance downtime, including participation from planning team on root cause failure analysis, and developing solutions
• Coordination with project engineering to ensure correct spare parts are stocked, drawings are updated, as well as all pertinent data is entered into SAP
• Ensure equipment deficiencies noted in inspection reports are planned and repairs completed
• Major contributor to cost budgeting and forecasting process
  
  

What You Need To Succeed

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations, engineering, or maintenance in a large manufacturing facility, with supervisor or management level experience
• Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
• 5 years of maintenance planning experience in pulp and paper manufacturing is preferred
