An Industrial Control Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing control systems within industrial environments. Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications typically associated with this role:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair faults in complex control systems using specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate measurements and operations.
- Update and modify control systems to improve efficiency and safety.
- Document all activities for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide technical assistance and training to other team members.
- Education: Associate’s degree in a relevant field such as Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in control theory, electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
- Experience: Hands-on experience with control systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PLC, HVAC, or ISA may be required or preferred.
