Experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician
Location: Roanoke Rapids, NC
Are you a skilled E & I maintenance professional looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our Roanoke Rapids Mill team is seeking experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians (E&I) to help maintain and repair state-of-the-art paperboard manufacturing equipment.
The E/I Technician will repair, maintain, and install plant electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment
Pay Range: $31.19 – $41.56 per hour (based on education and experience)
What You’ll Do
- Work alongside experienced mentors to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for unplanned shutdowns.
- Maintain and troubleshoot advanced control systems (DCS, PLC).
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for process control systems.
- Complete work orders, documentation, and change control procedures accurately.
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines.
What You Need to Succeed
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 4 years of verifiable Electrical or Instrument experience: (or a combination of both)
- Good understanding of basic math for electrical/electronics
- Manufacturing and/or Mill experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer programs using Windows based operating systems.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to identify voltage levels with the use of digital multi-meters
- Two-year technical degree, registered apprenticeship, or equivalent formal training desired
- Willing to work a rotating shift
- Scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed
- Ability to work weekends/holidays and in varying conditions (heat, noise, indoor/outdoor)
