Safety Technician.
A leading ship dismantler and recycler in Brownsville, TX is seeking an exceptional Safety Tech to join their team. The Safety Technician administers company safety policies and procedures in alignment with state and OSHA guidelines.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Advises EHS Manager on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Plans and implements training for employees in worksite safety practices.
- Maintains safety files and records.
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Conducts post-accident investigations and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
- Sets up and conducts training.
- Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
- Assists and maintains environmental reports including storm water.
- Preferred experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.
- Excellent Computer, communication, and training skills.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
- Makes suggestions for improvements for future modifications and alterations to accommodate company growth.
- All other duties as assigned by EHS Manger.
- Analyzes tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Performs additional tasks as requested by EHS Manger
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined by management.
- Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
