Marine Construction Laborer

Our client is looking for a dependable Marine Construction Laborer to join one of their field crews. This is hands-on carpentry and construction work performed on the water: framing and decking docks, setting and cutting pilings, building and repairing seawalls, installing boat lifts, and running the tools and equipment that get it done. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and take direction from the foreman on your crew. If you have solid construction fundamentals and you are comfortable in and around the water, this is a job where you will learn several trades at once and be trusted with real work quickly.

Essential Duties:

● Assist with the installation and repair of docks, pilings, seawalls, boat lifts, and marine foundations.

● Measure, cut, frame, and fasten lumber, composite decking, and marine-grade hardware.

● Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, small machinery, and construction equipment.

● Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment on barges, trucks, and jobsites.

● Set up and dismantle work platforms, scaffolding, staging, and safety barriers.

● Perform cutting, drilling, and pile-driving tasks in and around the water under supervision.

● Assist with rigging, hoisting, and securing loads, including giving hand signals to the equipment operator.

● Perform demolition and removal of existing docks, decking, seawall caps, and hardware.

● Rinse, clean, and maintain tools and equipment exposed to salt water at the end of each shift.

● Keep the worksite clean and organized and follow all safety protocols and permit-related environmental requirements.

● Secure the jobsite, materials, and equipment ahead of forecast severe weather.

● Support the crew in daily construction tasks and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Framing and trim carpentry experience.

· Ability to swim and work safely in, on, and around open water.

· Experience using construction hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery.

· Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and to work outdoors in South Florida heat, sun, wind, and rain.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

· Ability to commute daily to jobsites in Palm Beach County.

· Two years of marine construction experience. (PREFERRED)

· Experience with seawall construction, pile driving, or boat lift installation. (PREFERRED)

· Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction card. (PREFERRED)

· Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. (PREFERRED)

· Commercial driver's license (CDL) or experience towing barges and heavy equipment. (PREFERRED)
