Journeyman Electrician
Our client is looking for a Journeyman Electrician who will perform commercial electrical new construction, renovation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and service work in accordance with applicable codes, project requirements, company standards, and Delaware licensing requirements. The position is expected to produce high-quality work efficiently, support apprentice development, protect customer property, and contribute to project profitability.
Essential Duties:
● Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test commercial electrical systems within the scope permitted by law.
● Read and apply plans, specifications, code requirements, and supervisor instructions.
● Perform work safely and use required PPE and safe electrical work practices.
● Plan assigned tasks, identify material/tool needs, and minimize wasted labor and material.
● Direct and train apprentices when assigned.
● Accurately record all hours worked and assigned job-cost information.
● Identify potential change-order conditions and additional customer needs and report them promptly.
● Maintain required Delaware licensing and qualifications.
● Direct apprentices and helpers in assigned tasks within the scope allowed by law and company policy.
● Stop work and notify supervision when unsafe conditions, unclear scope, code concerns, or conditions likely to cause damage or rework are identified.
● Request necessary materials, tools, equipment, information, and supervision.
● Make field installation decisions within assigned scope, applicable code, company standards, and supervisory direction.
● Other duties as assigned.
● Install raceways, conduits, boxes, supports, cable tray, conductors, devices, panels, equipment, controls, and related commercial electrical components.
● Perform conductor pulls, terminations, equipment connections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
● Lay out work from drawings and field conditions and coordinate with other trades.
● Maintain an orderly work area and protect completed work and customer property.
● Inspect your own work for quality and correct deficiencies promptly.
● Communicate material shortages, delays, field conflicts, and extra-work conditions before they stop production when practicable.
● Care for company tools and equipment and maintain required personal hand tools.
● Generate or report potential sales/service leads discovered through customer contact or field observation.
● Suggest methods, prefab opportunities, tools, or procedures that improve safety, efficiency, or quality.

Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent, or education accepted by the applicable Delaware licensing authority.
· Completion of a registered electrical apprenticeship program and additional commercial electrical or safety training.
o Current Delaware Journeyperson Electrician license, or other electrical credential legally authorizing the work assigned, maintained in good standing.
o OSHA 10/30, first aid/CPR, NFPA 70E or equivalent electrical-safety training, and relevant manufacturer certifications.
o Commercial electrical construction or service experience sufficient to perform the duties safely and competently and to satisfy applicable Delaware licensing requirements.
· At least 3 years of commercial electrical field experience after apprenticeship or equivalent demonstrated experience in new construction and service work.
· Knowledge of commercial electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair, and service methods.
· Ability to read and apply electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, schedules, and installation details.
· Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes and project requirements.
· Safe use of electrical hand tools, power tools, test equipment, ladders, lifts, and related equipment.
· Ability to plan work, anticipate materials, and minimize downtime and waste.
· Ability to guide and train apprentices.
· Professional communication with customers, supervisors, coworkers, and other trades.
· Accurate timekeeping and job-cost coding.
