What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanics position at SMS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC?
Mechanics inspect, repair, or overhaul buses, trucks, and if you have diesel experience that a plus.
mechanics do the following:
- Follow a checklist of inspection procedures
- Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions
- Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as an oscilloscope, which is used to measure the voltage produced by electronic components
- Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles
- Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts
- Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
- Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance buses
- Perform safety inspections every 30 days along with documentation
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs
- Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area.
- Job site will include Inglewood and Carson
21 years or older (with 2 years Verified driving experience)
