What You’ll Do
- Drive and enforce SMS group Safety Standards and Objectives.
- Reviews incoming projects and advises disassembly, inspection, GSS BOM/router, repair scopes for new opportunities and products.
- Communicate with customers and outside sales regarding work status, scopes, costs, logistics, etc.
- Creates internal drawings, routers and inspection reports and distributes them to the Production Supervisor.
- Reviews dispositioned inspections, creates quotes and submits quotes to customers and outside sales.
- Updates routers, sources/expedites all materials and manages program inventory levels based off current market conditions and backlog.
- Reviews final inspection reports, work order costs vs po cost to verify all inventory has been charged, all materials and P.O.s financially updated and received.
- Obtains outside materials and services quotes.
- Creates and submits proposals using material and inside estimated hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, and process engineering preferred
- 3-4 years relevant experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and thorough interest in the workings of machines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a group
- You are a “hands-on” person with an imaginative and resourceful approach to problem solving
- Experience in area of project management/operations management in a related industry
- Experience with CNC machinery and programing is preferred.
- Experience with open arc and sub arc welding preferred.
- Thorough understanding of MS Office software is required
- Ability to travel to customers and vendor workshops
