Summary
Our Supply Chain department performs thorough analysis on the best prices for indirect materials, direct materials and capital expenses for our numerous locations around the USA. We’re look for an intern who can participate in various stages of the procurement analysis, supplier quality control, reporting and logistics processes. This position provides the experience to cooperate with different functions to reach common goals, work on special cost savings and supplier development processes. It will provide exposure to engineering, corporate initiatives and individual plant needs. This position requires work in a fast-paced team environment.

What you’ll do
- Perform purchasing data analysis for spend, cost savings and inventory management
- Aid in communication and follow up of KPIs within the different plants
- Work closely with teams to identify and execute cost savings opportunities
- Support the supplier development initiatives and quality assurance inspections
- Work and lead special projects in the areas of buying, expediting, sourcing initiatives, process development, design engineering, logistics and training
- Interact with different departments and management while developing communication and leadership skills
- Interface with our headquarter counterparts in Germany in special sourcing projects
- Analyze supplier quotes, terms and conditions of purchase
- Work closely together with buyers, quality inspectors and suppliers
- Assignment may require travel to our facilities to gain understanding of their operations and quality processes
What you’ll need
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering is desirable
- Strong analytical aptitude and ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a group
- You are a “hands-on” person with an imaginative and resourceful approach to problem solving
- Thorough understanding of MS Office software is required, with strong emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to create macros on Excel and Word preferred
- Limited business travel to suppliers and company workshops will be required
