Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

About Us SMPLFD Printing Co is a Detroit-based screen printing, embroidery, and graphic design shop that's been delivering quality custom apparel since 2004. We work with everyone from local artists to nationwide brands.

The Role We're looking for a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to own the back end of our fulfillment operation. You'll be the person who makes sure every inbound shipment is counted, verified, and accounted for — and that every outbound order gets to the customer correctly and on time. This role touches our warehouse, our webstores, and our fulfillment clients, so you need to be organized, system-savvy, and someone who catches details other people miss.

If you're the type who notices when something's off, documents it, and fixes it without being asked — this is your role.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound shipments: verify counts, inspect for damage, reconcile against purchase orders, and flag discrepancies
• Process and fulfill online orders through our warehouse and fulfillment clients using Shipstation and related platforms
• Manage customer webstores - monitoring inventory levels, processing orders, and maintaining accuracy across accounts
• Coordinate outbound shipping: package orders to standard, generate labels, schedule carrier pickups, and track deliveries through completion
• Maintain warehouse organization and inventory integrity on an ongoing basis
• Perform quality control checks on outgoing orders before shipment
• Assist with production finishing tasks (folding, bagging, heat pressing, etc.) as job requirements demand
• Communicate clearly with the internal team on order status, discrepancies, and any issues that affect fulfillment timelines

Requirements

• Extreme attention to detail - this is non-negotiable
• Strong organizational skills with a system-oriented mindset; you thrive with process and create it where it doesn't exist
• Comfortable working across multiple platforms and software tools; able to learn new systems quickly
• Reliable, punctual, and consistent - the team depends on you to show up and execute
• Clear communicator, both written and verbal
• Adaptable - priorities shift, jobs vary, and you adjust without issue
• Experience in a fulfillment, warehouse, or shipping environment preferred
• Able to stand for extended periods, lift 25 lbs regularly, and work in a production facility environment

Compensation & Schedule

• $18-20/hour depending on experience
• Part-time to full-time potential (30 hours/week)
• Shop hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (some weekends during peak season)
