We’re Hiring: Inside Sales Representative | SMP Supply
SMP Supply has served the pipe, valve, fitting, and flange industry for more than 30 years. We’re looking for an experienced Inside Sales Representative who takes pride in customer service, builds strong relationships, and keeps orders moving in a fast-paced environment.
Our inside sales team plays a key role in our success. In this position, you’ll work directly with customers by phone and email to prepare quotes, process orders, recommend products, and follow through from the initial inquiry to order completion.
What You’ll Do
- Handle a high volume of incoming calls and emails while providing responsive, accurate service.
- Prepare quotations, process orders, and follow up on outstanding opportunities.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend products that meet their needs.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying additional sales opportunities and earning repeat business.
- Work closely with outside sales to support customers and achieve sales goals.
- Manage pricing and margins to support profitable growth.
- Stay informed about products, market conditions, and competitive pricing, and share customer feedback with management.
- Work overtime and occasional weekends as business needs require.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–5 years of experience in inside sales or sales administration; pipe, valve, fitting, and flange industry experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple quotes, orders, and customer requests while maintaining attention to detail.
- Understanding of profit margins, pricing, and cost analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through customer and order issues.
- A dependable, customer-focused approach and a willingness to work as part of a team.
