The 3% contribution is based on an employee’s gross earnings after one year of service by the SMP facility. It is an account in which all earned credit for vacation, holidays, and short-term sick time accumulates. PTO is earned at a set ratio which increases with years of service. There are seven (7) paid holidays per year. These are built into an employee’s Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit. Regular full-time and part-time hourly employees receive one-and-one-half (1 ½) times their regular rate of pay for working on the paid holiday.
