Warehouse Associate – Newport, TN

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Smoky Mountain Farmers Co-op is looking to hire a reliable full-time Warehouse Associate at our Newport location. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, stocking, and loading products, as well as assisting customers and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Warehouse Operations
  • Receive, unload, and organize incoming shipments
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in designated areas
  • Load customer purchases such as feed, seed, fertilizer, fencing supplies, and other agricultural products
  • Keep warehouse, loading areas, and inventory organized and clean
  • Assist with inventory counts and stocking shelves and retail areas as needed
• Equipment Operation & Safety
  • Safely operate a forklift and other equipment as needed
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures
  • Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of warehouse equipment
  • Actively participates in all Smoky Mountain Farmers Co-op safety, environment and quality assurance programs.
• Provide Excellent Customer Service
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service when loading products and assisting customers
  • Maintain a helpful and positive attitude when working with customers and teammates

May be asked to perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to learn)
• General knowledge of agriculture products and equipment
• Ability to communicate and work within a team setting
• Attention to detail
• Must be dependable
• Self-motivated

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQURIEMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
