Associate Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner.
- Communicate product knowledge effectively to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience and increase sales.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions and returns.
- Cash Control, including shift drawer count and reconciliation
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are readily available.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness inside and outside of store
- Display a positive attitude and promote teamwork
- Exhibit professionalism in appearance and conduct

Job Skills:
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to adapt to new environments and procedures rapidly.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales reporting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by store operations
- Reliable.
- A proactive attitude towards upselling and promoting store promotions or events.
- Comfortable multi-tasking and adapt easily to change.
- Ability to work alone, including opening or closing the store.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to commute to other stores within a 30 mile radius.
Education
- High school diploma/ GED (required)
- 1 year of customer service experience (preferred)
- Must be able to pass the required certifications for Selling Alcohol and Tobacco within the allotted attempts
- Must complete the Smokin' Joe's Associate New Hire Training Program
Physical Requirements
- Stand 6-9 hours
- Walk, bend, squat, kneel, twist, reach overhead and below waist – frequently
- Climb occasionally
- Hand manipulation, example typing, running cash register - constantly
- Lift up to 25 lbs consistently, 25-40 lbs frequently; 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work alone, unassisted
