Sushi Chef Job Summary
Smokin Fins is hiring an Experienced Sushi Chef in Arvada, CO. We’re looking for a high-volume, detail-oriented sushi chef with strong knife skills, sushi rolling experience, and seafood handling expertise. This role is ideal for a line cook or sushi chef ready to grow in a scratch kitchen, full-service restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty rolls
- Execute sushi rice preparation, fish cutting, and plating
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines
- Work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
- Support menu development and sushi features
- Train and support line cooks and junior kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean, organized sushi station
Sushi Chef Requirements
- 2 years Sushi Chef / Sushi Cook / Line Cook experience
- Strong knife skills fish butchery experience
- Knowledge of sushi techniques (rolling, cutting, rice prep)
- Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, ServSafe standards
- Ability to work fast, clean, and with precision
- Open availability: days, nights, weekends, holidays
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in a fast-paced, high-heat kitchen environment
