Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance based on their preferences and needs
- Educate customers on product features, effects, and proper usage through engaging product demos and detailed explanations
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Upsell products by highlighting complementary items and special promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume
- Maintain stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting regular inventory checks
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, cash drawer balancing, and ensuring accurate retail math calculations
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations regarding cannabis sales and store policies
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting remote inquiries or taking orders via phone
- Assist with merchandising efforts to create appealing product displays that attract customer attention
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured products in an engaging manner
- Support team members with supervising responsibilities when needed, fostering a collaborative environment
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in a dispensary or related industry, with supervisory experience considered a plus
- Strong knowledge of POS systems and retail store product knowledge
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual (English/Spanish or other) settings if applicable
- Proven ability to upsell products while maintaining a customer-first approach
- Familiarity with cashiering duties including cash register operations, cash handling, retail math, and cash drawer handling
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and active listening abilities
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for retail transactions and inventory management
- Knowledge of cannabis products, industry regulations, and merchandising best practices is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed in a retail environment
