A cannabis dispensary front desk receptionist is the first point of contact for customers, responsible for creating a welcoming environment while ensuring strict adherence to compliance and security protocols. This position combines exceptional customer service with vital administrative and regulatory duties. Duties and responsibilities
- Customer intake and service: Greet customers warmly and manage the check-in process for both new and returning patrons. This includes answering questions, addressing concerns, and directing individuals to the correct staff members.
- Compliance and security: Thoroughly check and verify customer identification to ensure they are of legal age to enter and purchase products. For medical dispensaries, this includes verifying valid patient recommendations.
- Traffic management: Control the flow of customers in the waiting area, monitoring security cameras and notifying budtenders when they are available to assist the next guest.
- Administrative support: Handle phone calls, take messages, and manage a queue of customers waiting to enter the sales floor. Additional duties may include data entry, filing, and assisting with reports.
- Point-of-sale (POS) assistance: For some dispensaries, the receptionist may assist with transactions, including processing sales and handling cash, using a POS system.
- Maintain reception area: Ensure the front desk and lobby are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials such as menus or educational pamphlets.
