About the Role
The State Manager will lead NV Group’s portfolio of spirits across Southern California. This role is responsible for managing distributor relationships, driving brand execution, growing market share, and delivering profitable results across on-premise, off-premise, and e-commerce channels.
We’re looking for a hands-on, dynamic leader with deep spirits industry experience and a passion for building brands in large, competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities
Distributor Management
- Serve as the primary contact for distributor partners across Southern California
- Develop and execute joint business plans to achieve sales and distribution goals
- Monitor distributor performance and ensure accountability on depletions, execution standards, and promotions
Sales & Market Execution
- Achieve annual sales, volume, and distribution targets
- Drive excellence across on-premise, off-premise, and emerging e-commerce channels
- Conduct regular market visits to build key account relationships and identify growth opportunities
- Execute brand programs, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives
Strategic Planning & Collaboration
- Partner closely with the National Sales Director to align local and national strategies
- Collaborate with marketing and key account teams to execute regional programs
- Provide market insights to inform brand and sales strategy
Market Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and performance data
- Prepare performance reports highlighting wins, risks, and opportunities
- Manage budgets in line with company guidelines and ROI objectives
Qualifications
Experience
- 5 years of sales and management experience in spirits, beverage alcohol, or CPG
- Proven success managing large territories and distributor partners
Skills
- Deep understanding of the spirits industry and distributor networks
- Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic planning skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 45 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and work on a computer
