Job Summary
Join Smoke and Beer as a Store Associate and become the friendly face that keeps our retail environment vibrant, organized, and customer-focused in this neighborhood tobacco and alcohol shop! In this role, you will be responsible for providing friendly customer service, managing and conducting inventory, restocking shelves, and ensuring the store operates smoothly.
This position is for you if you are a people-person, like to organize, and a self-starter in identifying needs around the store. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a welcoming shopping experience for all customers while supporting daily store operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, assist with product inquiries, and provide knowledgeable support about store merchandise.
- Manage inventory processes including taking store inventory on a regular basis, restocking products as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and storage spaces to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Support stock receiving activities by loading and unloading shipments on delivery dates.
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as product placement, signage updates, and ensuring retail store product knowledge is current.
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and stock movement while following safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing shopper needs promptly and warmly.
Qualifications
- Previous retail store experience, especially smoke or alcohol shops is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory and merchandising tasks.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Basic math skills for counting stock, processing transactions, or managing inventory accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and team members confidently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling practices.
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, shipping & receiving procedures, and store maintenance routines is advantageous.
- No prior experience necessary. Looking for an honest and hardworking person.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
