Company Description
We are SMNW Cougar Robotics, a small but ambitious 501(c)3 FIRST robotics team based in the Shawnee Mission School District. Our diverse group includes individuals from the LGBTQ community, and we collaborate with teams worldwide to help them succeed in competitions both on and off the field. Our students learn essential skills such as computer programming, electrical and mechanical engineering, computer-aided design, marketing, effective communication, and teamwork.
Role Description
This is a small part-time, on-site role for FRC Robotics Mentors located in Shawnee, KS. The FRC Robotics Mentors will be responsible for guiding and training students in computer programming, electrical and mechanical engineering, computer-aided design, and/or other skills related to robotics. Mentors will also facilitate effective communication and teamwork among students, support them during competitions, and help with project planning and execution.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Robotics, Programming, or STEM fields
- Strong Communication and Training skills
- Experience in mentoring or teaching students
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
- Experience in competition environments is a plus
- Living near the Shawnee, Kansas Area
