Job Summary
3 B Health is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Orthopedic Technician to join its outpatient orthopedic clinic for a 13-week travel assignment. This role involves providing direct patient care related to orthopedic treatment and assisting physicians in the application, adjustment, and removal of orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, and braces.
This is not an operating room role — experience in an orthopedic clinic or similar setting is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices.
- Educate patients on proper crutch use, brace care, and post-application care.
- Assist providers with reduction of fractures and dislocations.
- Maintain orthopedic instruments and supplies.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and suture/staple removal.
- Ensure accurate charting and documentation within the Epic system.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and efficient care.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Orthopedic Technician experience (Surgical Techs not accepted).
- Certification:
- Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Preferred: National Orthopedic Technician Certification
- Licensure: Valid California license required at time of submission (no temp licenses accepted).
- Charting System: Epic (preferred)
- Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers welcome.
- Patient Ratio: 1:4–1:5 (Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $1,900.00 - $2,100.00 per week
