Job Title: Painter – Hospital Facilities
Summary:
The Painter is responsible for maintaining the hospital's appearance by performing a wide range of painting, finishing, and cosmetic maintenance tasks. This position ensures that all areas of the hospital—including patient rooms, corridors, offices, and common areas—are kept in excellent condition to support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, prime, and paint interior and exterior surfaces throughout the hospital using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Mix, match, and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to achieve desired colors and textures.
- Repair, patch, and finish walls, ceilings, doors, and other surfaces, including plaster, drywall, and woodwork.
- Install and repair wallpaper, cove base, ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, and floor tiles as needed.
- Perform light carpentry, caulking, and finishing work related to painting and maintenance projects.
- Conduct and document preventive maintenance and minor renovations in patient rooms and hospital facilities.
- Maintain accurate inventory of paints, supplies, and tools; order and restock materials as necessary.
- Follow all hospital safety, infection control, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
- Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor or Manager.
- Epoxy application is highly desired
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade school training preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of painting experience in a commercial, institutional, or healthcare environment required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in surface preparation, color matching, and finish application techniques.
- Knowledge of paint materials, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and cleanliness—especially in patient care environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, hallways, offices, and exterior areas.
- May require flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings or weekends, to accommodate hospital operations.
- Must comply with infection control and safety requirements in all areas of the facility.
Rotating Schedule
Must be available weekends.
[Tuesday - Saturday] or [Sunday -Thursday] 6:30am-3:00pm: 40 hours per week
Schedule may change to a night shift
