Position Title: Retail Sales Associate

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Reports To: Store Manager

Compensation: $16.00 – $18.00 / hour (commensurate with experience)

We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team, assist shoppers with recommendations, and keep our day-to-day store operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every customer promptly and provide personalized, knowledgeable recommendations across our selection of beer, wine, and spirits.
• Maintain a welcoming, customer-first environment by actively answering questions and guiding shoppers to specific products.
• Assist with receiving shipments, unboxing inventory, and restocking shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Ensure visually appealing merchandise displays through regular facing, dusting, and accurate shelf-tag pricing.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, processing cash, card, and digital transactions while managing basic opening/closing register counts.
• Possess a clean driving record and ability to drive the store vehicle for local deliveries when needed.
• Strictly enforce state and local alcohol compliance by verifying customer identification and adhering to all legal age-verification protocols.
• Support in-store tasting events, promotions, and vendor showcases by preparing sampling areas and engaging with participants.
• Keep the sales floor, checkout counter, and backroom clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 1 years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience (prior beverage alcohol or specialty retail experience is a strong plus).
• Product Interest: Basic knowledge of craft beer, wine varietals, or spirits—along with a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to learn our inventory.
• Age & Certifications: Must meet state minimum legal age requirements to handle/sell alcohol; state-required server/seller certification (e.g., TIPS) is preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
• Technical Skills: Comfort using modern touchscreen POS systems, barcode scanners, and card readers.
• Physical Capacity: Ability to remain on your feet for extended shifts and lift/carry cases of beverage products up to 40–50 lbs regularly.
• Availability: Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and high-volume holiday seasons.
