Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Car Wash Membership Sales Specialist to join our team in Illinois. This role involves traveling between two car wash locations, working in the pay lanes five days a week to actively sell memberships to customers. The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator with a passion for sales, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to coach and train team members to excel in membership sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage with customers in the pay lanes at the Smitty’s Car Wash locations in Champaign and Danville to promote and sell membership packages.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, explaining membership benefits, and resolving concerns to drive sales.
- Consistently meet or exceed membership sales targets through effective sales techniques and relationship-building.
- Travel between two car wash sites as scheduled, maintaining flexibility and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
- Community outreach to potential customers and fleet accounts.
- Coach and train other team members on effective sales strategies, membership conversion goals, and customer engagement techniques to enhance team performance.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, providing feedback to management on trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to company standards while representing the brand in the pay lanes.
- Collaborate with site managers to ensure seamless operations and alignment on sales goals.
- Stay informed about promotions, pricing, and membership updates to provide accurate information to customers.
- Lead new sales and marketing initiatives to ensure Smitty’s maintains industry-leading performance.
- Creates and promotes a safe work environment by adhering to company safety guidelines.
- Any and all other responsibilities assigned by direct supervisors or anyone within the Smitty's Leadership Team.
Experience and Skill Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to persuade and build rapport with customers.
- Experience coaching or training others in sales techniques or customer service preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in the pay lanes for extended periods, regardless of weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between two car wash locations.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Goal-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional sales training or certifications a plus.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and carwash IT systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Work Schedule
- Full-Time
- Five days per week
- Two locations
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Must be available to work in Champaign and Danville, Illinois, switching between locations each week.
- Must be available to work Thursday through Monday, 9 am to 6 pm, for a total of 45 hours per week or more as needed.
