Duties

The Lead Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.

In This Position, You Will

  • Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work.
  • Conduct facility inspections and system condition assessments, preparing detailed engineering reports on mechanical, electrical, and civil features.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to explain project objectives, alternatives, and special procedures.
  • Lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service. For this position specialized experience is defined as leading multidisciplinary project teams in planning, developing, and executing construction and renovation projects involving mechanical, electrical, or plumbing (MEP) systems in facilities such as museums, research centers or warehouse facilities; and collaborating with stakeholders, facility users, construction managers and contractors supporting renovation and construction project delivery.
