Duties

The Construction Control Representative provides expertise in facility maintenance, contracting techniques to best support building systems and execution of maintenance projects.

In This Position, You Will

  • Serve as contracting office’s technical representative for OFMR maintenance contracts. Provide technical assistance and advice to OFMR staff members and/or contractors to assure contractors are in full compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Use automated technical software to compile information necessary to report and formulate data, presentations or documentation for maintenance assignments.
  • Oversee management and integration of contractor operations, work closely with SI personnel, professional engineers and maintenance operators engaged in maintenance activities and projects.
  • Communicate with personnel at a variety of levels to convey progress, problems and recommendations in a timely manner.

Qualifications

GS-11 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as experience performing work related to construction; interpreting plans and specifications during construction; conducting on-site inspections of workmanship; and monitoring construction schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time.

GS-12 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as experience interpreting plans and specifications during construction; coordinating on-site inspections; leading a team of crafts/trades persons engaged in construction work; and monitoring construction contract costs to ensure projects remain within budget.

Education

Education cannot be used as a substitution for experience at the GS-11 and GS-12 grade levels.

  • This position is included in the bargaining unit.
