THE VALUE YOU’LL BRING: This role plays a key part in supporting electrical reliability and uptime across the plant. As the Electrical Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating daily electrical maintenance activities to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. You will maintain accurate CMMS data for electrical assets, develop detailed job plans, and ensure materials, tools, and labor are prepared before work begins. You will serve as the plant’s subject matter expert for electrical systems within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring that equipment records, bills of material, and preventive maintenance task lists are complete and accurate. By maintaining a well-prioritized backlog, preparing job packages, and collaborating with electricians, supervisors, and production teams, you will help ensure reliable plant operations. This position may provide support to project engineering as needed but will primarily focus on day-to-day electrical maintenance planning and coordination. WHAT YOU’LL DO: The below statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Electrical Maintenance Planning & Coordination Develop, review, and maintain electrical equipment master data, including equipment lists, bills of material (BOMs), and preventive maintenance (PM) task lists. Plan and schedule electrical work orders for motors, drives, PLCs, switchgear, MCCs, lighting systems, and other control components. Walk down jobs in the field to verify scope, materials, and job requirements. Estimate labor hours, materials, and special tools required for each work order. Obtain vendor quotes, coordinate purchasing, and ensure parts and materials are available prior to job start. Track material deliveries and coordinate staging and kitting of electrical parts for upcoming work. Maintain an organized backlog of electrical work, categorized by system, priority, and resource type. Support weekly and shutdown planning meetings to coordinate with operations and maintenance leadership. Review completed work orders for accuracy and ensure electrical feedback and job notes are properly entered in the CMMS. CMMS & Data Management Maintain the accuracy and integrity of electrical asset data within the CMMS. Generate reports on backlog status, preventive maintenance compliance, and labor utilization. Work with reliability and engineering teams to identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement in equipment uptime. Inventory & Procurement Support Collaborate with the storeroom team to ensure adequate inventory of critical electrical components and spare parts. Recommend stocking changes for high-use or critical electrical items. Safety & Compliance Ensure all electrical job plans incorporate appropriate safety procedures, permits, and lockout/tagout requirements. Support plant electrical safety programs and comply with all NFPA 70E and company standards. Leadership & Collaboration Partner with maintenance and electrical supervisors to prioritize work based on operational needs. Provide technical support and documentation for electrical maintenance tasks. WHAT WE’RE SEEKING: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of electrical systems including low- and medium-voltage power distribution, controls, PLCs, and instrumentation. Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability in an industrial environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced production environment. Demonstrated ability to be approachable, team-oriented, and maintain a positive work environment. OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT: Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Planner or Electrical Technician. Experience with CMMS software, preferably SAP. Understanding of preventive and predictive electrical maintenance practices. Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical schematics. Experience using project management or scheduling software such as Microsoft Project. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: The plant environment may include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold or heat, working near moving mechanical parts, and exposure to electrical components, fumes, or chemicals. Noise levels in production areas may be moderate to loud. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
