JOB TITLE: Material Handler
DEPARTMENT: Shipping & Receiving
REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor

SUMMARY: The Material Handler is responsible for assisting in distribution as well as the processing of parts within the organization. This role ensures timely movement of materials, accurate inventory control, and effective communication with all departments to support production needs. The Material Handler performs tasks related to loading, unloading, storing, and distributing materials throughout the facility. This includes maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring inventory levels, and operating material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. The position plays a key role in supporting production flow and ensuring parts availability for manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
· Safety: Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
· Receiving & Put-Away: Receive, unload, and put away all inbound materials and any materials created in-house.
· Material Handling: Load and unload items in warehouse and storage areas; move materials to designated locations. Respond to requests for parts in a timely manner.
· Inventory Control: Identify, label, and place materials in stock; record locations using PDM and Industrios.
· Order Fulfillment: Locate and verify materials listed on production orders; deliver to appropriate departments.
· Stock Management: Maintain minimum quantities of parts throughout departments; work closely with operators to ensure adequate stock.
· Equipment Maintenance: Perform pre-use inspections and minor repairs on material-handling equipment.
· Documentation: Complete accurate paperwork and system entries for all material transactions.
· Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all departments to support production schedules.
· Disciplined & Organized: Create and maintain organization of all inventories throughout facility and operation.
· Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve tracking and flow of materials, reduction of movements, elimination of lost parts or materials.
· Team support: Support team members fulfilling duties as needed.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Forklift, Overhead crane and other yard equipment.
· Basic computer skills
· Knowledge of MS Excel
· ERP/MRP/WMS experience preferred

· Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Forklift, overhead crane, frontend loader, Skid loader, and shag truck.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a full-time position.
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Fridays 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays as needed from 6:00 a.m. to noon.

Local travel may be required at times.
