Role Description This is a full-time, in office Project Engineer role based in Gonzales, LA. The Project Engineer will support the engineering, planning, and execution of storage tank projects from concept through completion, collaborating closely with the construction managers, field teams, and fabrication staff. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing design documents, drawings, and specifications; coordinating with internal teams to ensure compliance with API653, API653, ASME and AWWA standards; and assisting with estimating, scheduling, and best designed procurement responsibilities. The role involves monitoring project progress with the construction team, addressing technical issues, and providing engineering solutions that promote safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
The Project Engineer will also participate in client meetings, produce technical reports, maintain accurate project documentation, and support continuous improvement of engineering and construction processes.
Qualifications
- Strong project engineering capabilities, including Project Engineering and skills relevant to industrial or tank-related items.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with the construction team, fabrication personnel, leadership, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with API 620/650 and AWWA standards, industrial construction practices, and safety regulations is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar)
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
