Purchasing Clerk

Job Overview
Smith Sawmill Service is a multi-state manufacturing company that provides services and products that are designed around the ever-changing sawmills, chip mills, paper mills, and pallet manufactures.

We are currently looking for a full-time, skilled and motivated Purchasing Clerk to join our team.

The ideal candidate is an experienced self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Support business operation team and sales team in monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs.
• Support business operation team and sales team in Tracking orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Research and clear up all unsent purchase orders in our system.
• Research and edit Purchase Orders updating each Purchase Order with expected dates of receipt.
• Order all Diamond Wheels upon receipt of Purchase Order on a continual basis so that orders can be processed timely.
• Advise on Carbide Tips order needs.
• Review specific company reports daily to ensure orders are processed when needed.

Position Requirements:

• Work experience as a Purchasing Clerk or similar role in purchasing preferred.
• Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• Solid organizational skills.
• Experience receiving and checking incoming products.
• Ability to learn new software.
