About the Position
At Smith River HVAC, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Commercial HVAC Technician to join our growing team in Plymouth, NH.
This is a hands-on role for someone with 10 years of commercial HVAC experience who is confident troubleshooting equipment, working independently, communicating with customers, and taking ownership of a job from start to finish.
You’ll work on a variety of commercial HVAC systems while also serving as a resource and leader for other members of our field team. The right person is dependable, knowledgeable, professional, and takes pride in doing quality work.
What You’ll Do
- Lead commercial HVAC service, repair, maintenance, and installation projects
- Diagnose and troubleshoot heating, cooling, electrical, and control-system issues
- Service and maintain commercial rooftop units, boilers, heat pumps, and related equipment
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation
- Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment failures
- Lead and assist other technicians on challenging service calls and projects
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, and building owners
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate job status
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Help mentor and develop less-experienced technicians
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of commercial HVAC experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Solid understanding of electrical and HVAC controls
- EPA 608 certification
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work and jobs
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively as part of a team
