We are looking for a competent CNC Operator to join our team to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Setting up machines and programming knowledge are preferred, but not required. We are open to all experience levels and seeking long term candidates who want to grow within the company.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Operate CNC 3 and 4 axis Mills (Fanuc Controls: Doosan, Mori Seiki & Hardinge) , single and dual-spindle Lathe (Fanuc Controls: Doosan & Mori Seiki) Machines, or manual lathe.
- Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
- ISO 9001 quality control training provided
- Forklift training if applicable
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of experience is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of machine set-ups is preferred, but not required
- Programming knowledge is preferred, but not required.
- Must know how to use inspection equipment (micrometers, depth mics, calipers, etc.)
- Mechanical knowledge of tools, machines and required maintenance
- Attention to detail
- Strict adherence to quality and attendance
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs when required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide on the job training to new employees
- Assist machinists in repairs
