Job Description
Our ideal candidate has a solid background in tax services and a minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting with a working knowledge of business, trust and estate tax planning. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are a prerequisite, as is general QuickBooks knowledge. Experience with UltraTax is a plus, but not necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Tax planning strategies and tax consultations for individual and business clients
- Direct interaction with clients while working on their tax projects
- Preparation, oversight and review of individual, business, and trust income tax returns
- Opportunity for cross training in our consulting, wealth management, and outsourced accounting departments (depending on your experience and interest.)
- Become the primary client contact for an existing book of business and manage the relationships
- Develop junior staff skills and explore new practice areas.
The minimum qualifications for our professional tax staff positions are:
- Bachelor's degree (Masters a plus) and CPA or EA designation
- Three or more years of individual, trust, or business tax preparation experience in a public CPA firm environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, interactive, results-based, team environment
- Independently manage client engagements from beginning to end
