What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at Smith Medical Clinic, Inc.?
Behavioral Health Provider – PMHNP or Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Want to practice mental health care in a place where you have time to listen, get to know your patients and see the difference your work makes?
Smith Medical Clinic is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or licensed mental health counselor/therapist to join our team caring for uninsured adults in Georgetown County.
Our patients come to us with far more than a diagnosis. They may be coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, family challenges, financial stress or chronic illness - and often several of these at once. For many, having someone who will listen, understand what is happening in their lives and help them find a path forward can be life-changing.
You'll work alongside an experienced and compassionate primary care team that understands how closely mental and physical health are connected.
Depending on your credentials, the position may include:
- Individual counseling and behavioral health treatment
- Mental health assessments and treatment planning
- Collaboration with primary care providers
- Telehealth and/or in-person appointments
- For PMHNPs, psychiatric evaluation, medication management and prescribing
We're looking for someone who is clinically strong, kind, flexible and comfortable caring for patients who may have limited resources but tremendous resilience.
Current South Carolina licensure is required.
The position is part-time with scheduling flexibility, and we are open to discussing a schedule and combination of in-person and telehealth care that works well for both the provider and the clinic.
