WELD FOREMAN

Smith & Loveless is united under one cause: “Protecting Water. Protecting People.” We are seeking a Weld Supervisore to partner with our experienced production team in this environmentally focused industry.

A Weld Supervisor at Smith and Loveless is responsible for supervising and coordinating the production assemblies for manufactured products. Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and good knowledge of welding are key. Must be familiar with welding processes.

Skills/Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Welding or equivalent supervising experience, preferably in a union work environment.
• Experience with a strong understanding of welding.
• Fabrication shop experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret weld symbols and understand engineering drawings.
• Possess strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.

Job duties

• Supervise, hire, train, assist, and counsel employees in a union work environment.
• Ensure efficient and timely assembly and fabrication.
• Ensure adherence to specifications/standards.
• Ensure safe work area and practices.
• Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to ensure proper interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Inspect products to ensure specifications/standards are met.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Superintendent.

• Occasional travel required (<10%).
