What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECT MARKETING COORDINATOR AFTERMARKET position at SMITH & LOVELESS INC?
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Direct Marketing Coordinator assists in the promotion and management of the Aftermarket Business Development and Pump School Programs. They support customer interactions through both channels by ensuring Pump Schools are coordinated and advertised effectively to maximize the return on each school and managing the Aftermarket Business Development program to plan each trip and accurately catalog data from each customer visit for follow-up as needed.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Support the Retrofit Pump School through researching suitable venues, gathering rental contracts, and coordinating internally to secure the best venue. Oversee Pump School file management, including Pump School Sign In, Surveys, Comment Cards, and Photos as they return with the presenter from each school.
- Assists Aftermarket Creative Team in the production of product artwork. Generate, schedule, and send E-Blasts to advertise the pump school program. Assemble customer lists for distribution of the e-blasts. Make direct callouts to customers to boost pump school registration.
- Coordinate with the pump school instructor to assemble and ship textbooks, brochures, spare part sample case, and other merchandise giveaways. Document Pump School registration and attendance. Analyze and interpret data collected from the Business Development and Pump School Programs.
- Oversee the continuing education operator training credit hour process. Work with various state-based entities to get pre-approved to offer credits at each pump school, verify attendance from each school, and generate and send out CE certificates to each attendee.
- Coordinate travel plans for the Retrofit Business Development (BD) Program by gathering information from existing installation records, mapping out customers, and coordinating travel plans through various targeted territories.
- Assist in packing S&L literature and merchandise packages for the BD program travel. Oversee the distribution of relevant marketing materials to direct customers before and after a BD visit.
- Coordinate after each trip to assist in documenting the results of each customer visit and enter the information into Maximizer to facilitate follow-up from the appropriate sales team. Maintain customer records to facilitate future marketing efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Associates or Technical degree, Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Preference given to those with a degree in marketing, mass media, journalism, etc. Prior relevant work experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in direct marketing campaigns, event planning, social media marketing, and customer relations is a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. File Management in both digital and hard copy. Exceptional written and verbal communication. Strong self-starter with high level of attention to detail.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Data Entry, phone usage, and bending and opening/closing of steel filing drawers. Normal office environment. Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or drag up to approx. twenty-five (25) pounds if necessary.
