Smith Hulsey & Busey is seeking an Associate with one to four years of experience in complex commercial real estate transactions. Associates are involved in transactions from initial structuring through closing, with responsibility for key components of each deal and the opportunity to work directly with partners and clients.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft real estate purchase contracts, leases, easements, loan documents, and other transaction-related agreements.
- Conduct due diligence on commercial real estate transactions, including title and survey review.
- Prepare organizational and governing documents.
- Review and issue title commitments and title insurance policies on behalf of nationally recognized title insurance companies.
- Facilitate the closing of commercial real estate transactions.
- Research and stay updated on real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and real estate professionals to achieve clients' and the firm's objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong academic credentials with a JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
- One to four years of experience practicing commercial real estate law.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, contracts, and property law.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Compensation and Benefits
Initial compensation is competitive and based upon prior experience. The position is full-time and offers bonus opportunities, paid holidays, paid time off, major medical, dental, disability, 401(k), parking, and payment of bar association dues and continuing legal education.
