Job Summary:

Smith Fertilizer & Grain is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting our fertilizer, chemical, and grain operations. You’ll be responsible for safely transporting a variety of products between our facilities, terminals, and customer locations, operating well-maintained equipment, and representing our company with professionalism and care.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and is willing to jump in and help where needed. This is a hands-on position offering steady, year-round work that varies by season.

Key Responsibilities:

· Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to haul fertilizer, chemicals, grain, and NH3 (anhydrous ammonia).

· Load, transport, and deliver products accurately and on time.

· Perform basic vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks.

· Follow all DOT, safety, and environmental regulations.

· Assist with other seasonal or operational tasks as needed, including plant operations, product handling, and equipment support.

· Maintain accurate delivery logs and communicate effectively with dispatch and management.

· Represent Smith Fertilizer & Grain professionally with customers and team members.

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required; one to three years of related experience preferred but not required.

· Class A CDL required or ability to obtain; Hazmat, tanker, and doubles/triples endorsements preferred.

· Clean driving record and strong safety awareness.

· Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

· DOT physical certification; minimum age 21.

· Previous experience hauling ag products or chemicals preferred.

· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform a variety of physical tasks.

· Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
