Smith Family Dentistry is a friendly, small-town, family-oriented dental practice in Guin, AL, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team. This position will also function as our Dental Financial Coordinator.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, follow-up, and helping keep the financial side of a dental practice running smoothly. Experience with Open Dental and dental insurance is preferred, but we are open to the right person who learns quickly and takes ownership of their work.
Position Overview
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing dental insurance claims and accounts receivable while also assisting with front office duties as needed. This is an in-office position and an important role within our close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on dental insurance claims
- Post insurance payments and reconcile EOBs in Open Dental
- Manage accounts receivable and insurance aging
- Send patient statements and assist with collections in a professional, respectful manner
- Verify insurance benefits as needed
- Assist with front office duties including:
- Patient check-in and check-out
- Scheduling appointments
- Answering phones and assisting patients
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding insurance and account questions
- Maintain accurate, detailed records and documentation
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Office Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday–Thursday
- Part-time candidates will be considered for the right fit
Compensation & Benefits
- $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
- 6 weeks of paid vacation
