What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor Technician position at Smith Excavating?
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit construction laborer to join our team. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor. This includes material handling, loading/unloading trucks, maintaining a clean job site, and ensuring that proper safety procedures are followed. The field of work can include reclamation, new & existing right-of-way clearing, erosion control and seeding, pipeline coating, and installation/construction of various types of natural gas facilities.
There will be training, and certifications completed over time that will be the employees to keep. Although this is an entry-level position with our company there are opportunities to learn and grow within the company.
This will be mostly in-state, along with some in-state overnight required. We usually are no farther than 3-4 hrs. away from our shop locations. Workdays are Monday – Friday. In the circumstance we are traveling overnight the company pays a nightly per diem in addition to the hotel cost for every night out of town.

Construction Labor Technician Requirements
· Knowledge and hands on experience in fence building and concrete work.
· Must be authorized to work in United States
· Must be willing to travel.
· Preferred Driver's License with 5 years licensed experience
· Must pass drug testing.
· Be safety-minded.
· Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
·Assist with the assembly and installation of gates and hardware.
·PM of heavy equipment/tools being used on crew.
· Loading & unloading of heavy equipment
· Flagging
· Basic equipment mechanics
· Install silt fence on job sites.
· Possible Skid steer operation
· Possible UTV operation

· OSHA 10 & OSHA 30

· Natural Gas Operator Qualifications & Underground Utility Training
