What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician /Equipment Account Manager position at Smith Ecological Systems Company (SES)?
The SES Service Technician/Equipment Account Manager position will service and install water treatment equipment for accounts across the Northern Illinois Region, while also building up company’s account portfolio. The schedule is fluid and flexible so need self-motivated individual who can service water-treatment equipment when a customer’s system goes down unexpectedly, while also completing detailed bid documents in timely manner to ensure make the submittal deadlines. Also, this individual will need to repair equipment onsite at customer’s location or in the shop. The SES Account Manager portion of this position is to build relationships with accounts, make visits and be available when they need you to assist with issues or questions. Some installation work is required as new equipment systems are generated from quotes and bids, but most of the equipment work is troubleshooting or performing preventative maintenance.
Primary Functions:
- Manage customer issues when they arise
- Build and maintain relationships with customer and vendor accounts
- Repair and replace customer water treatment equipment as needed
- Compile bid documentation as needed

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with bid services and/or Quickbooks (preferred)
- Prior experience in chemical and/or equipment industry (preferred)
