What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cargo Van Owner-Operator – Dedicated Delivery Route position at Smith Delivery Service LLC?
Smith Delivery Service is seeking experienced owner/operator independent contractor drivers with a cargo van for dedicated last-mile delivery routes based out of Fife, WA.
This is a consistent weekday route servicing the South Seattle area including Kent, Renton, Tukwila and surrounding cities.
Drivers will be responsible for loading, unloading, scanning, and safely delivering office supplies in a professional and timely manner.
Compensation is carton-based. Pay is $2.00 per regular package and $6.99 per piece of furniture (anything over 65lbs) and current drivers typically average between 89-155 packages per day. This would make earnings between $1,100–$1,300 per week depending on route volume and time of year.
Requirements:
- Cargo van required (low roof or high roof accepted). High roof vans can fit more products therefore would earn more $.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- Ability to lift and move heavier packages (such as boxes of copy paper) consistently. Furniture can sometimes be part of the route or added on if you want to take on more work/pay.
- Smartphone and basic app/navigation skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional. Emphasis on reliable because you will need to work M-F
- Prior delivery experience STRONGLY preferred (Amazon, FedEx, UPS, DHL, medical courier, final mile, etc.)
This position is best suited for dependable self-starters who are comfortable working independently and managing routes efficiently.
