STATUS: Full-Time
TYPE: Hybrid as permitted by Supervisor
Purpose
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing accounting functions including accounts payable and cash disbursement processes while ensuring financial accuracy. They ensure that all invoices, bills, and other requests for payment are handled in a timely fashion. This individual will prepare and maintain accounting records in online QuickBooks, general ledger, accounts payable, financial policies, procedures and controls, and reporting systems.

This individual will prepare and maintain accounting records in online QuickBooks, general ledger, accounts payable, financial policies, procedures and controls, and reporting systems.
Education / Qualifications / Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of related or equivalent experience preferred
- 1 years of supervisory experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic environment.
- Experience with multi-unit entities
- Possess and understanding of Accounting Principles, using various tools for monitoring performance
- Proven ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail and well-developed time management skills
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and Procurify is a plus
- Ability to develop, and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to do formulas like v-lookup, sumif/sumifs, pivot table.
- Oversee daily functions of Account Payable
- Perform accounts payable related duties, including:
- Review open purchase orders, accrued purchases report & general ledger coding distribution
- Review proper GL coding, sales/use tax and enter A/P invoices with 2-way/3-way matching within 24-48 hours upon receipt
- Process check-runs and create payment voucher packages
- Process individual checks as needed
- Follow up with vendors or users regarding issues with PO or AP invoices, solve issues within 48-72 hours.
- Filing and properly maintaining AP documents
- Keep track of all company credit card spending, and make payments on credit accounts
- Prepare 1099 and 1096 reporting
- Prepare month-end AP accruals.
- Prepare supporting and summary schedules to be used internally or by auditors in preparation of comprehensive financial statements.
- Support monthly closing.
- Verify accuracy of general ledger, prepare account reconciliations and journal entries as needed
- Regularly interact in a courteous and professional manner with interdepartmental staff and management personnel, vendors, and
- Recommend best practices and improve the standard procedures.
- Other GL/AP related duties/ad-hoc projects as assigned.
