What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Investigator position at Smith & Carson?
What You’ll Do:
As a Field Investigator, you’ll lead complex investigations into accidents, injuries, and other incidents. You’ll research individuals and entities using public records, social media, and news sources—piecing together critical information to uncover the facts. In this role, you’ll also conduct in-person, in-depth interviews with witnesses, gather key statements, and document your findings in clear, concise reports.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will bring prior investigative experience—ideally in law enforcement, insurance, or a related field—and hold a degree in Criminal Justice, Law, or a related discipline. You have a passion for interviewing and a determination to uncover the truth. Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build rapport quickly.
- Eligible to hold a license in multiple states (required)
- Flexible and willing to travel across the Southeast
- Must reside within 15–30 miles of Atlanta for on-site assignments on short notice
