Job Title: Overnight Transfer Team Member – Part-Time | Smith & Buckner Funeral Home
Smith & Buckner Funeral Home has been a trusted part of the Siler City community, part of the Pugh Funeral Home Family, a group with 170 years of history serving families across the NC Piedmont. We're looking for a compassionate, dependable person to join our Overnight Transfer Team — helping us care for families in our community during their hardest moments.
What You'll Do
Transport individuals who have passed away from hospitals, nursing homes, residences, or care facilities to our funeral home, with dignity, discretion, and care at every step. Keep the transport vehicle clean, well-maintained, and stocked with supplies. Follow state, local, and company procedures for safe, respectful transport. Represent Smith & Buckner professionally on every call, including with grieving families and facility staff.
Schedule
Part-time, overnight/on-call shifts. Flexible scheduling.
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Comfortable being on-call overnight and responding on short notice. Calm, respectful, and discreet in emotionally sensitive situations. Able to lift up to 75 lbs regularly (occasionally more).
No funeral industry experience required — we'll train you. Backgrounds in caregiving, healthcare, transport, or customer service are a plus.
