Smith Brothers CNC Machinist
JOB DESCRIPTION: Swiss style CNC lathe machinist experienced in set-up and run for quick turn prototype and volume production part manufacture. We would prefer experience but would consider someone with less/no CNC experience if you have comparable work skills and the desire to learn CNC operation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:
- CNC set-up and operation of parts with varying complexity and precision (mostly high precision)
- In-Process and first article inspection of parts to prints
- Program edits as needed (at machine and off line)
- Provide Technical support to co-workers when needed
- Equipment maintenance and work area housekeeping
- Safety focused work ethic
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Must have 3 years’ experience in CNC machining
- Experience in the set-up and run of Swiss CNC lathes helpful
- Excellent blueprint reading skills.
- Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions
- Experienced with metal (stainless steel, titanium, aluminum) and plastics machining
- Knowledge of Citizen lathes a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works primarily in a machine shop environment.
- Will on a continuous basis stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
- Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
- Must be flexible to perform limited part finishing and/or assembly as needed.
